An offshore corporation must first be established under the laws of Antigua. This company will become the owner of the vessel and it will apply for registration under the flag of Antigua.
The owner must supply Antigua Management & Trust Ltd. with copies of the following documents as well as to completing and faxing or emailing as an attachment the Pleasure Craft (Yacht) Application Form.
- Declaration of Ownership
- Copy of Bill of Sale (Builders Certificate)
- Copy of Current Registration Certificate
- Copy of Latest Survey Report, if available
- Copy of Deletion from Previous Registry (See Note)
NOTE: A Yacht may be deleted from its former registry once the application has been approved for registration in Antigua and then submit a copy of the deletion certificate. Antigua will then issue its certificate of registration.
Antigua Management and Trust Ltd. will review the application and other documents for validity and completeness. It will submit all of the above to the Registrar of Ships for approval. It will pay all the required fees for registration and obtain the Certificate of Registration. All of the documents will be sent by courier, if requested, to the owner.
Each year Antigua Management & Trust Ltd. will collect the annual maintenance fees from the owner and pay the Department of Marine Services in Antigua. Any statutory or legal amendments in Antigua or related registry matters will be communicated to the owners. |
